This Warren Through Truss bridge is one of a four crossing of the Walnut River in the town of Winfield.
Built in 1921, this bridge was constructed to replace an earlier single track truss constructed in 1906. It is likely that this truss was relocated to another location.
The main span is a 6-panel, riveted Warren Through Truss. It is approached by modular concrete beam spans, built in 2003 and 2017 to replace trestle approaches.
Overall, the bridge remains in good condition. The bridge sits on concrete and pile substructures. One of three heavily used used bridges of the four in Winfield, this bridge should continue to support traffic for years to come.
The author has ranked this bridge as being moderately significant, due to the truss design.
